A Bookish Wishlist

What do I want for Christmas? Hmm. I wouldn't mind a new condo or a 2015 Mini Cooper, but who has that kind of money? Luckily, there are a few other items on my list that anyone can afford. What are they? Books, of course! So here it is, my bookish wishlist.....

Three bookish favorites I'd love to own:
An Inquiry Into Love and Death by Simone St. James
Now You See Me by S.J. Bolton
The Scrapbook of Frankie Pratt by Caroline Preston

Three more I'd like to read:
Valentine by George Sand
The Ladies' Paradise by Emile Zola
The Rabbit Back Literature Society by Pasi Ilmari Jaaskelainen

And three that are out of print...and (sadly) out of reach
(but a girl can always dream):
The Summer Birds by Penelope Farmer
The 4-H Filly by Patsy Gray
Growing Up With the Impressionists - The Diary of Julie Manet

What's on your bookish wishlist this year?
Happy Reading!

  1. A lovely wishlist! It makes me want to think about the books I want and want to read for the year that comes (can you imagine it is already December?)

    Kind regards
PS If I had the money, I would throw in a condo and the Mini Cooper! (easy to promise if you don't have any money)

  2. I have The Rabbit Back Literature Society (NetGalley), but haven't started it yet.
Great idea to make a list and hope someone will know what book (or books) to choose for you!

    1. It's such a fun book! I love the way it's told through collage. So clever...and memorable. It's a book you want to own.

  4. I have never even heard of most of these. I hope you can find and enjoy them! Always on my holiday wishlist are some of the yummy books from the Folio Society. They have a new edition of Little Women out that I would love.

    1. There's always a book or two out that you want to own, isn't there? I think my family and friends get tired of me always asking for books...but what better gift is there? Oh! I like the new look of your blog. Very nice!

  5. Ah...if only I had bought 4-H Filly years ago when I had the chance...I didn't know then that libraries (gasp) get rid of books! Love your list. Frankie Pratt was such a great read. I hope you get some wonderful books for Christmas, since the condo and Mini are out of reach.

    1. If only indeed! :) Next time I spot a book that I liked at a library sale I'm snatching it up. (Just in case.) Thanks for stopping by! I hope you get some great books to read this Christmas, too!

  6. I enjoy visiting your blog because your reading taste is so eclectic, as demonstrated by this reading list. I usually come away with new books that I just have to get. I've been wondering which Zola to put on my list for 2015 and Ladies Paradise just might be it.

  7. Can't wait to hear what you think of the Caroline Preston book. Her novel "Jackie by Josie" is one of my all-time favorite comfort reads.
